The Philippine Experience – What is more of this country?

An article before this exposes what the writer thought was wrong with this country but let me show you a different side of the Philippines. What is more of this country? 

While the other article says that the Catholic Church and the Government are to blame for the country being poor, there are things that are not easily understood. Like every other nation in the world, there are those things a country can’t avoid to have like prostitutes, poor people, and corrupt government officials. You should also consider that there is more to life than just that. The Philippines is one of the best places in the world to be at for its tourism, cultural heritage, weather, and hospitable people which is something that most people miss.

The Philippines is proud to be the only Christian country on Southeast Asia despite the fact that poverty is high. I know it’s ironic, but being a part of the Third World Countries, I say it’s something positive in a way that despite the challenges the Filipinos are facing, they have something to hold unto which is their Faith. Aside from having faith, these people are known to be hopeful and cheerful. So hanging out and being with Filipinos is really a fun experience that is why many foreigners come back to this country not just for its beautiful spots but also for its wonderful people.

The Philippines has 7,107 magnificent islands that will always leave you with awe and the Government as well as Private sectors especially environmentalists like Bantay Kalikasan (Nature Watch) are doing their best in preserving the natural resources and beauty of the country. We have the Rice Terraces, the White beaches; the Chocolate Hills, the spectacular Mountains and Volcanoes, and these are just to name a few.

I can’t blame the writer of the other article for saying that Filipino men and women are dumb but to say that all of them are is an insult to the Filipino race. We have many highly educated people who have made names not just in the country but internationally as well, we may not have produced a thousand geniuses but we have millions of bright minds with big hearts. The Philippines is one of the countries in Asia that has a high literacy rate. Filipinos have sex education and they do understand birth control, but reality tells us that not everyone especially people in the Philippines can afford education which leaves some ignorant. But if there is one thing that Filipinos truly understand it is the value of human life that is why abortion stays illegal in the country.

The Philippines is not a perfect country nor does it have perfect people however this country struggle everyday facing all the challenges and critics of the world. It may have fallen many times but it still continues to marvel the world with its splendor and generous people.
